Adding the CATS Events Calendar to your Personal Calendar

If you add the CATS Events Calendar to your personal calendar, CATS Events will automatically show up on your personal calendar the same time they are posted to the CATS Events Calendar.

This will work if your personal calendar is a Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or most other calendars that are capable of accepting an iCal (.ics) link.

Instructions are posted below for use with Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.

In either case, you will need this iCal URL:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/aa531b97861c303f7c45d50761cd6c757afb00401029e32502f01511ba47c8eb%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

This is all new, so please let me know via the CATS Website contact form if you have any issues and we will work through them.

IF YOUR PERSONAL CALENDAR IS A GOOGLE CALENDAR

On a desktop computer, open your personal Google Calendar.

On the left side of the calendar, find “Other calendars” and click the “+” next to it.

Click “From URL” (do not click “Subscribe to calendar”)

Paste the above iCal URL into the “URL of calendar” box, do not click the “Make the calendar publicly accessible” box, then click “Add calendar.”

CATS events should now show up on your personal calendar. You can change the color of CATS events on your calendar (and other options) by placing your cursor over the “CATS Chicago Area Tandem Society” calendar visible in your “Other calendars” list (left side of web page), then clicking the 3 vertical dots that show up just to the right of this calendar label when hovering your cursor over it.

IF YOUR PERSONAL CALENDAR IS AN APPLE CALENDAR

On your iPhone or iPad, open your Apple Calendar app.

On iPhone, click “Calendars” at the bottom of the page, or on iPad click the calendar icon in the upper left.

On the page that appears, click “Add Calendar” at the bottom of the page, then click “Add Subscription Calendar.”

Paste the above iCal URL into the “Subscription URL” box, then click “Subscribe.”

CATS events should now show up on your personal calendar.
